August 2, 2008

*drumrolls*
Mahirap din magpataba! well, it’s true for my case and ever since I heard the things related to what they call “fast metabolism,” it has been my very reason & answer to all the questions posted regarding my WEIGHT.

I don’t really mean Pa-Taba, as in FATS, but weight gain. :] I am currently enrolled for a month(feel ko lang.lol.) at Olympia Fitness Gym. And It’s like my first time to be trained well as in with the instructor and all. Though, I went to gym for exercises back then but I stopped, i mean like aerobics, etc.

And now.. PAIN. PAIN. PAIN. This is what I feel right now. Ang sakit ng katawan ko. grbe.
well, what more if I was a member for a year. whew. good luck nlng sa December. well, 4 months to go.

SACRIFICE muna. sigh. masasanay din ako.

Another post.

July 25, 2008

My class every Friday and Saturday is only til 10:30 am. So, I went home early and decided to sleep. Alas, I remembered what my brother said about sleeping. He told me that according to some study and logic, People who sleep much, die faster. I think this is a corollary to what people kept on saying about lacking sleep. Logically, people who sleep much don’t use their body much so they increases the tendencies of being passive and suddenly die whoa. So, I changed my plans. I’m going to finish everything today. Every  requirement. :]

Anyway, can anyone share his/her philosophies in life and love? I’m sure I will be enthralled with whatever you’ll say and I’m sure I wanna learn from you.very much appreciated.

A Flattering Experience.

July 24, 2008

Not an ordinary day.Today was not an ordinary day. Aside from my routine of being late, I woke up early because I had to study a quiz on the every-meeting-is-a-quiz-day-Sociology-class (teacher- Fr. DJ delos Reyes, S.J. - great teacher! According to him, students learn from Jesuit Priests slowly but surely.). Because of my(slash group) presentation which I had to do all by myself (I just love working alone.) because I volunteered. So, I woke up at 7 am and study the lesson. I was overwhelmed with what I was studying so I lost track of the time. Worse = I was not able to take my precious breakfast, I just ate one slightly-toasted raisin bread (yum, yum!)

Anyway, I hitched a tricycle to bring me to ADNU.  I told him, “Ateneo po, double ride.” He looked at me - and stared. And slowly nodded his head for “yes.” So, I felt “this guy is weird.” Later, he told me, ” Aram mo, may kamukha ka! Artista!” You know, you look like someone famous. Then he added, “Parehas kaya ang mata nindo pati ang buhok, pero dae ko talaga matandaan.” That famous person has the same eyes and hair with you. So, I was like smiling but I wanted to laugh hard! I was alone inside so I didn’t have the guts to laugh. He still kept on looking at me and I really wanted to laugh hard!!!!!! LOL! Then a passenger entered. He stopped. shy maybe.lol.I told myself, “too much TV on this guy.” I thought he was referring to Enchong Dee(assuming), allegedly from other people close and not close to me. *flattered* .Then the passenger went out. So, we were still traveling and I again lost track of time. Then he told me, “Dae ko talaga ngaya natatandaan.” I just can’t remember who. The shocking parts- the good one and the bad,respectively- was, he told me that famous person is someone from Hollywood and it was a girl he was referring. lame. Maybe because I didn’t tie my hair so I looked like a girl. So I was flabbergasted. what a sarcastically great news. But another comedic twist was when he told me,” Harani na lamang kita sa Ateneo, dae ko pa lamang natatandaan!” Now that we’re nearing Ateneo, I still just can’t remember who she is. So, I smiled discreetly. ;]] We arrived then he still gazed at me , according to my peripheral vision, wanting to remember who I look like.

Then, I was late. The Late Me. The Late PJ. lol

 Now the question is,

Should I or Should I not get my haircut? :]

2008’s Money

July 22, 2008

While I was about to rummage the internet for my homework, I came across Yahoo! Home and I read an article about healthy success.

Where the Money is in 2008

By Clare Kaufman

The economy may be in a grim state, but these professionals continue to bank on healthy, stable paychecks every month. Here’s a look at five careers with the earnings potential to sail through any economic downturn, and the degree paths to get you there.

HEALTHCARE…

Nurse Anesthetist

Medical care is always in demand; while business sector employees remain on the lookout for pink slips, health workers are receiving salary increases and bonuses. Nurse anesthetists are among the highest-paid medical professionals without an M.D. A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers pain alleviation medication and monitors patients’ vital signs during surgical procedures. CRNA earn a median salary of $135,681, as well as bonuses of up to 50 percent of this base salary. Traveling nurse anesthetists make $100-$110 per hour.

Getting There with an MSN in Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA)

Nurse anesthetists qualify for certification with a two-year specialized master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia, or CRNA. The prerequisites for this degree program include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree as well as one to two years of experience in critical care nursing.

BUSINESS…

Chief Executive

You know you’ve made it if your income is subject to Congressional oversight. CEO compensation has reached such stratospheric levels that top executives like Merrill Lynch’s Stanley O’Neal have been called to account by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. According to salary.com, chief executive officers make an average base salary of $623,546, or $1.2 million and up with bonuses. The top players make much more; O’Neal’s successor at Merrill Lynch, John A. Thain, pulled down $83.79 million in 2007.

Getting There with an MBA

There’s no straight ticket to a chief executive seat, but an MBA degree helps. According to The Wall Street Journal, close to two-thirds of top CEOs have either an MBA or a JD degree. “Employers expect graduate degrees for management-track candidates,” writes Career Journal columnist Carol Hymowitz. The two-year MBA, widely available as an online degree, offers unparalleled networking opportunities and the training in leadership skills to get ahead in the workplace.

FINANCE…

Actuary

In uncertain financial times, companies are willing to pay top dollar for risk management. This is, in a nutshell, the actuary’s job description; actuaries use their statistics, mathematics, and finance knowledge to assess risk and to create business policies that mitigate financial risks. Sixty percent of actuaries ply their trade in the insurance industry, with the remainder working for financial service interests such as credit and corporate security. Actuaries earned a median salary of $95,420 in 2007.

Getting There with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics

Actuaries qualify for their jobs with a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, finance, or statistics. A four-year Bachelor of Science in Statistics offers excellent preparation in areas such as probability, sampling, standard deviation, as well as mathematical courses such as calculus.

Financial Analyst

Financial analysts also play an increasingly important role in a tight economy, ensuring that businesses make the most of their investment dollar. Also known as securities or investment analysts, financial analysts analyze financial metrics and make recommendations to investment banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, and securities firms. The national median salary of $81,700 in 2007 belies the true income of financial advisors, which includes performance-related bonuses.

Getting There with a Bachelor of Science in Finance

Financial analysts enter the workforce with a four-year bachelor degree in finance or a related field such as accounting, business, economics, or statistics.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY…

Network Systems Analyst

Network systems analysts rank number one in the Department of Labor’s list of the thirty fastest-growing occupations, with 53.4 percent job growth expected through 2016. Systems analysts keep a company’s data network performing at optimal efficiency, making sure employees have reliable access to file-sharing applications, reporting, email and voice communications, etc. Network systems analysts brought home a median salary of $70,760 in 2007.

Getting There with an BS in Management Information Systems (MIS)

A four-year bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems grooms graduates for higher-level supervisory roles, with courses in both business management and network systems.

No matter how tough the economy becomes, certain careers will always come out on top. The essential players in the working world-top executives, healthcare and IT professionals, and financial gurus-can count on a steady paycheck through thick and thin. With the right degree to buoy your career, you can sail through a turbulent economy.

I couldn’t talk but I started smiling.

My first blog post here.

Today was like another  “the days of my life.”  It seemed like everything happened in slow motion! whew! My lunch break for Tuesdays and Thursdays is at 10:30 - 12:00 because I have a class at 12 nn to 1:30 pm, which is Filipino. So here’s the thing, I kinda like someone in my Filipino class.btw, my teacher is Mam Ibarbia. Before we (my classmates and I) entered the room, another class was in, and our teacher was not yet around, so, we had to stay outside to wait. And even before that, I saw her standing by the door. My diaphragm felt like it wanted to be expelled through my mouth! lol. I couldn’t talk not only for the reason that I didn’t have any company but it would be a huge bag of shame. I couldn’t talk but I started smiling like I’m inebriated or something. The “kilig” part was there, I felt it. I kept on looking at her but when she looked back at me,I quickly gazed at something else.whew. I felt I was blushing (yea, i know! blushing’s lame! lol). Then, we entered the class, with my rolled-cartolina containing my report on the very uninteresting “ISPELING SA FILIPINO.” I had a feeling that she was looking at me even though she was 3 seats behind me so made pa-cute. LOL!

Then the downside, ( a shift into another dimension). I thought that I was gonna report today. So, I brought with me all the things I need but I wasn’t able to report and the downside are I’m gonna bring it back on Thursday and I wasn’t able to make pa-cute. ROTFLOL!

Going Back, the teacher cut off the reporting because she had something to give us -a term requirement. And we had to get it the people in front so that we could have a copy of what she is requiring us. *drum rolls* Then, people started getting a copy for themselves, so i decided to get one asap. I got next to her! Our arms touched then heaven opened and  angels sang.  So, that’s what happened. =]

But even before that, I saw her in our subdivision and I really think that she lives somewhere near. I see her always passing our gate and always ready to melt. I always waited for the very moment she passed by and I’d just keep staring at her and quickly lowered my gaze when she stared back. I feel levitating up to the sky and swim through the clouds.

When she’s there it felt like a runner’s high, I’m pumped full of endophins and adrenaline.

But i don’t consider this love, more like crush. I’m not yet ready to be hurt and I’m not afraid to accept that.

LOVE = “I’m ready for pain, so come on, give me your best shot.”
